Pass the Page: A Blog Hop

Welcome to the next leg of the pass-the-page bloghop.  If you're following along, you should be arriving from Jemma's Blog.  And if you want to start from the beginning and see what all the fuss is about, head over to Julie's Blog - fabulous!

And I'm going to begin my post with a confession...

The idea is that each person in the hop has a few days to take inspiration from (or steal blatantly from) the a layout made by the previous person.  Then she makes her page and sends it on to the next person who repeats the process.  Well, I jumped at the chance to join in and loved the page sent to me by the lovely Jemma.  And then life got busy and I didn't feel creative.  There was all this inspiration and I couldn't seem to make it work for me.  But I made a page anyway and sent it on to K when my time was up.

But I didn't like my page.  And it bothered me.  I felt like I hadn't done what I really wanted to do.

So I've cheated.  The page you see here is not the page I made and sent on. The page you see here is the new shiny page that I am happy with.  So let me tell you about it...

I love the page that Jemma sent me.  The colours are beautiful and bright with tones of yellow and orange, the chevron made an appearance and the word 'Spell' in the title made me think of one thing: magic.  And so I obviously had to scrap about taking the Guides on the Harry Potter Studio Tour.

So I plonked down my chevrons just so (thieving excitedly from Jemma's design) and borrowed those lovely  golden tones to be the main colour on my page.  I also used a single photo with a nice white border and some layering behind it.

And then because I can't help myself, I added yellow mist and stars and wrote all over it because I don't know when to stop and I have a lot to say for myself.  Like how I wore my Gryffindor scarf and how I really wanted to poke all the props in the studio, but you aren't allowed.

Now you may well be thinking "SHOCK! YOU CHEAT! That's just not cricket!".  And fair enough.  But my scrapbook is important to me and I want to love it.  So I offer you my humble apologies and in the spirit of fairness, I've included a picture of the page that was passed on to K and you can hop over to her blog here and see what she made based on what I sent her.  That way, you can see the true continuity of the pass the page idea.  But a little part of me can't help wondering if actually my new page, the one that will live in the album, actually would have fit in the hop without anyone realising any different?

It just goes to show that sometimes, you can't force inspiration.

And so off we hop on our merry way to K's Crafty Corner...

P.S.  My apologies for my absence of late.  Life is very busy indeed and while I have many a lovely thing to gossip about, I don't seem to have a spare minute to craft or blog at the moment.  So I hereby resolve to make time.  Soon!

P.P.S. I also need to make time to scrap so I have something to blog about.  Note to self.
