The other weekend, the man and I wrapped up warm and headed to Syon Park to wander along their mile-long Enchanted Forest trail. It was a cold night, but quite clear and almost rain-free. We started with a pause for our first mince pies of the season, and a mulled wine each that was very much not our first of the season... and then we set off along the trail.
The trees and plants were lit in vibrant colours, decorated with lanterns, teacups, playing cards and fairy houses, influenced by a world of woodland myths and stories. The theme from Jurassic park soared though the air as a small glade was lit in a dance of choreographed lights, and we spotted figures through the smoke along hazy paths.
The finale was a light show in a beautiful conservatory, and I watched it twice as it was quite spectacular. All in all, a lovely evening out, and a very festive night for fairy-light lovers everywhere.
P.S. This post is part of a series which make up Journal Your Christmas, an online course run by Shimelle which is all about recording memories of this wonderful festive season.
